Hooting Owl North Yorkshire Gin is a traditional London Dry Gin containing 18 botanicals which include:
Juniper, Coriander Seeds, Bitter Orange Peel, Grapefruit Peel, Kafir Lime Leaves, Angelica Root, Orris Root, Liquorice, Grains of Paradise, Dandelion Root, Burdock Root, Bilberries, Heather & Thyme amongst others.
Inspired by the rugged beauty of the North Yorkshire Moors Between Thirsk and Whitby (from where we Harvest Heather and Bilberries, when in season), these botanicals and the lovingly accurate way in which we distil our gins makes for a very smooth flavour packed "Fruity" gin.
As in all true gins, the taste explosion starts with Juniper, followed by the citrus notes of the bitter orange and grapefruit, the earthiness of the heather all complimented by the sweetness of the liquorice, cassia bark and fruity bilberries then a slightly spicy finish thanks to the cubeb and grains of paradise.
Serve over ice, with one-part Gin and three parts of the tonic of your choosing, at Hooting Owl we use a plain quality tonic as we believe that the flavour should come from the gin not the tonic. Garnish with a slice of grapefruit, a sprig of thyme and a few pink peppercorns.
